Energy & 100K Power Spike in Sandustry
Build enough generation and connected storage, then actually charge the network to a 100,000 Energy peak.
To reach 100K
- 1
- → Generate Energy
- 2
- → Connect enough storage
- 3
- → Charge the network
- 4
- → Reach a 100,000 peak
100,000 storage capacity alone is not the same as reaching a 100,000 Power Spike.

Plan your 100K setup
Enter the highest Energy you have actually reached and how much connected storage you have. The first result is the bottleneck, not a Copper shopping list.
Do you already have automated Steam?

How the Sandustry Energy system works
An Energy network has five layers: generate, transfer, store, charge actual Energy, then hold a peak. The 100K Power Spike reads peak Energy, not capacity.
Generation
Transfer
Storage
Actual Energy
Peak Energy
A Steam Turbine does not charge Florinol / Gold Batteries. Those stores are excluded from the normal Copper / Power Brick network, and a Connector does not bridge them.
Not enough storage
If current Energy is pressed against capacity, the next Power Bricks raise the ceiling.
Not enough generation
Capacity can sit far above the Energy you have actually charged. That is a charging problem.
Ready
Connected storage can hold the peak, and charged Energy has crossed 100,000.
Choose and scale Energy storage
Copper-based Power Bricks scale storage capacity; they do not generate Energy by themselves.
Which Energy storage should I use?
Gold Battery
often called a Florinol Battery
- Best for
- Early / compact power
- Strength
- Quick to establish
- Tradeoff
- Relies on Florinol and sits outside the normal Energy network
Power Brick
often called a Copper Battery
- Best for
- Scaling capacity
- Strength
- Predictable 1,000 Energy per brick
- Tradeoff
- Needs Copper infrastructure
| Role | Energy density | Reusable | Automated charging | Best for 100K |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 16 / tile | Yes — re-ignite after it hardens | Not the Steam charging path | Poor scaling | |
| 1,000 / Power Brick | Rechargeable | Steam Turbine compatible | Recommended route |
Why did my Florinol solidify?
This is expected after Energy is used.
Re-ignite the hardened Florinol. A heat tool such as the Rocket Launcher is the documented way to do that.
How to build scalable Copper Energy storage
Copper → Liquid Copper → Power Brick adds storage capacity. That chain does not generate Energy.
Power Brick capacity
This closes the storage gap. It does not generate or charge the Energy by itself.
| Power Bricks | Added capacity | Copper | Liquid Copper |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1,000 | 16 | 16 |
| 10 | 10,000 | 160 | 160 |
| 25 | 25,000 | 400 | 400 |
| 50 | 50,000 | 800 | 800 |
| 100 | 100,000 | 1,600 | 1,600 |
Generate Energy
Steam carries a charge. A Steam Turbine harvests that charge into Copper / Power Brick storage, directly or through an Energy Connector. It does not charge a Florinol / Gold Battery.
Steam Turbine not helping?
- 1. Steam reaches the Turbine
- 2. Turbine is generating
- 3. Energy can reach storage
- 4. Storage still has room
Connect your Energy network
An Energy Connector joins power structures on a network. An Energy Siphon is a tool that moves stored Energy between stores by hand.
Energy Connector
Use when you want to join or extend an Energy network.
Network A — Connector — Network B
Energy Siphon
Use when you need directed transfer between power stores.
Source — Siphon → Target
A Steam Turbine does not charge Florinol / Gold Batteries. Those stores are excluded from the normal Copper / Power Brick network, and a Connector does not bridge them.
Do batteries need to be in the same room?
Same room required?
No
Official data does not require the same room. What matters is that storage belongs to the active Energy network and that network can actually charge.
- Correct Energy connection
- Storage belongs to the active network
- The network can actually charge

Why won't Energy reach 100,000?
Pick the problem that matches what you see. Every result uses the same shape: likely area, check, next step.
Energy isn't increasing
Likely area
Generation is missing, the transfer path is broken, or storage is already full.
Check
Next
Fix generation, the transfer path, or free storage capacity before adding more Power Bricks.
What is Energy used for?
Energy powers selected tools and machines, and the 100,000 Peak Energy milestone is a major progression gate.

Progression
100,000 Peak Energy
Using Energy while trying to build a peak
If active production is drawing from the same Energy system, the peak may grow more slowly than the generation setup suggests.
Optional boost
Voltblub
Voltblub can add small amounts of Energy on filled Power Brick storage. Useful as extra generation. Not required for 100K planning.
What comes after the 100K Power Spike?
After 100,000 Peak Energy, continue into the Stratacore progression stage.
Common Energy questions
How do I reach 100,000 Peak Energy in Sandustry?+−
Build connected Power Brick storage and keep charging that network until peak Energy — not capacity — crosses 100,000. A Gold Battery starts the Energy tier, but Power Bricks plus sustained Steam generation are the scalable route.
Do batteries need to be in the same room?+−
No. Official data does not require the same room. Storage has to belong to the active Energy network, and that network has to actually charge.
Why won't an Energy Connector transfer Gold Battery power into Power Bricks?+−
Gold Battery storage is excluded from the normal Energy network. A Connector joins power structures; it does not dump Gold Battery stores onto Power Bricks. Use an Energy Siphon to move stored Energy by hand, and use Steam Turbine → Connector → Power Brick for automation.
What is the difference between a Gold Battery and a Power Brick?+−
A Gold Battery (often called a Florinol Battery) is starter storage at 16 Energy per Florinol tile. A Power Brick (often called a Copper Battery) is scalable Copper storage at 1,000 Energy each and can be recharged from a generator.
Why did the Florinol in my Gold Battery solidify?+−
That is the expected Gold Battery lifecycle after Energy is used. Re-ignite the hardened Florinol to make it available as an Energy source again.
What do I do after reaching 100K Energy?+−
Continue into the Stratacore progression stage. The Energy page stops at that gate so the Stratacore guide can take the next step.
